Wa West NDC Donates to Volta Flood Victims

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Wa West Constituency has donated 25 bags of maize to victims of the floods in the lower Volta Basin following the spillage of the Akosombo dam.

The Member of Parliament for the Wa West Constituency, Mr Peter Lanchene Toobu, presented the maize, on behalf of the constituency executives, to the regional executives of the party in Wa.

During the presentation, Mr Lanchene lamented the havoc caused by the spillage. The MP also pledged to add GH₵5000.00 to the donation.

He, therefore, called for more support from well-meaning Ghanaians to the flood victims.

He said Ghana is currently facing a mini-crisis following the spillage of the Akosombo Dam, which has destroyed properties and rendered many homeless.

Mr Thomas Saad Ngminbahaara, the NDC Upper West Regional Organizer, who received the items on behalf of the regional executive committee, thanked the Wa West Constituency and encouraged other constituencies to also join with their donations.

He noted that the regional executive of the party made a call on the constituencies within the region and some individuals to support the flood victims.
