55 Aspirants To Contest 17 NDC executive Positions in Jirapa

Fifty-five aspirants are vying for 17 executive positions in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Jirapa ahead of constituency elections scheduled for Saturday, October 24, 2026.

Constituency Elections Director Yabang Bernard says preparations are complete for the polls, which form part of the party’s reorganisation process.

Speaking to Info Radio, Mr Bernard said the party had engaged the candidates and urged them to campaign respectfully, without insults or personal attacks.

More than 1,273 delegates are expected to vote. However, the eligibility of one branch to participate remains unresolved, with regional executives expected to determine the matter following disagreements.

Mr Bernard said security arrangements had been finalised with the Ghana Police Service to ensure a peaceful election. He added that police would have sole responsibility for security at the venue and that no other security personnel would be allowed to operate there.
