Wa West DCE Vows Open-Door Policy to Foster Inclusive Governance

The newly confirmed District Chief Executive (DCE) for Wa West, Hon. Richard Wulo, has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to leading an open-door administration that prioritizes transparency, collaboration, and development.


Speaking at the District Assembly’s first Ordinary Meeting held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, in Wechiau, Hon. Wulo assured Assembly Members that their views, opinions, and suggestions will always be welcomed and valued.


He encouraged members to approach his office freely and without hesitation, emphasizing that their contributions are vital to advancing the socio-economic progress of Wa West.


Expressing heartfelt gratitude for the overwhelming endorsement he received during his confirmation, Hon. Wulo highlighted the importance of unity and collective effort among all stakeholders within the district.


“Togetherness is key to unlocking the full potential of Wa West,” he affirmed, underscoring his readiness to listen and engage openly with Assembly Members and constituents alike.


“It is my fervent hope that the one hundred percent (100%) confirmation margin would translate into your unwavering support to enable me to move the development agenda of Wa West forward”, he emphasized.


In addition to governance, Hon. Wulo addressed the security situation within the district, sharing insights into recent developments. The Head of the District Security Council (DISEC) reported that the district remains largely calm and peaceful during the period, despite isolated incidents of armed robbery in some areas.


The administration remains vigilant and committed to safeguarding the safety and well-being of the people.


Meanwhile, the Presiding Member (PM), Hon. Dassah Y. Ephraim, who, in his welcome remarks, encouraged Assembly Members to freely express themselves in their preferred languages, as sanctioned by the Assembly.


“I urge you to freely express yourselves in any of the languages that were approved in the house”, he said.


He further urged all members of the assembly to express themselves freely, especially if they aren’t fluent in the English language.


In a related development, the Wa West DCE, Hon. Richard Wulo, assured assembly members that the allowances due them, which were a campaign promise by HE John Dramani Mahama, would be paid in the coming days since the monies have already hit the account of the assembly.


“I am glad to report that the Assembly has disbursed an amount of GH ₵ 104,000 to the Assembly for onward payment to Hon Assembly members”.
