The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Wa ,Hon Alhaji Issah Nurah Danwanaa, has assured residents and stakeholders that concerted efforts are underway by the assembly to enhance essential services at Tendamba Primary School following its recent relocation to the Tendamba Junior High School campus.
Addressing concerns raised over inadequate access to potable water, poor sanitation facilities, and lack of electricity at the new location of the Tendamba Primary school , Mr. Danwanaa emphasized the municipality’s commitment to creating a conducive learning environment. Speaking exclusively to Info Radio, he revealed that the Assembly, in collaboration with Ghana Water Company Limited , is actively working to connect the school to reliable water supply to ensure a sustainable supply of clean drinking water for both students and staff.
The Wa MCE highlighted plans to upgrade sanitation facilities by constructing well-maintained toilets equipped with handwashing stations to promote hygiene and safeguard the health of the school community. On the electricity front, efforts are being made to restore power supply to the school, which would significantly improve ventilation, facilitate better teaching and learning, and provide a more comfortable environment for teachers and pupils alike.
Mr. Danwanaa also noted that several classrooms have been abandoned due to their dilapidated condition, contributing to declining enrollment. He pointed out that the municipality is exploring the redevelopment of the site into a proposed 24-hour economy market, aligning with broader developmental goals.
Reiterating the Assembly’s dedication to educational development, the MCE called on parents to support increased enrollment, assuring that ongoing infrastructural upgrades aim to foster safe, modern, and inspiring learning spaces across the municipality.
