Wa Duori Naa Bans the Use of Public Address Systems for Marriage Ceremonies to Curb Public Indecency

The Chief of Wa Duori, Naa Blintoh Taasung Abdula in an effort to address rising concerns over public indecency during marriage ceremonies, has issued a formal Notice of Ban on the use of public address systems for marriage celebrations within the Duori traditional area, specifically in Wa Dobile.
Addressing the media in Wa, Sunche Naa, Saaka speaking on behalf of Duori Naa Blintoh Taasung Abdula indicated that, the directive comes amid increasing reports of indecent dressings and inappropriate dancing during wedding events, which have sparked discomfort among traditional, religious, and community leaders in Wa.
Naa Abdula emphasized the importance of maintaining decorum and respect during significant cultural ceremonies. He also called on all Traditional leaders, assembly members and the security to oversee the implementation of the ban on the use of public address systems during marriage celebrations to ensure they align with cultural norms and moral expectations.
Another chief speaking during the press conference said, all marriage ceremonies within the Duori traditional area are advised to be conducted without the use of loudspeakers or public address systems and called on all to comply with the directive
The ban aims not only to reduce noise pollution but also to curb behaviors deemed inappropriate, ensuring that wedding celebrations reflect the religious, cultural and moral values. The traditional authorities have promised to enforce the directive and work closely with community stakeholders to promote decency and respect during all marriage ceremonies in the area.
