The Member of Parliament for Wa Central and  Minister for Employment and Labour Relations, Dr. Hassan Rashid Pelpuo, has led a high-level delegation to the Dondoli community, a suburb of Wa in the Upper West Region, following a tragic land dispute that resulted in the deaths of two individuals. The visit underscores the urgency and collective resolve of political, traditional, and security authorities to restore peace in the area.

The delegation was accompanied by the Upper West Regional Police Commander, DCOP Francis Yeribaare, and representatives of the Wa Naa (Wa-Naah), reflecting the seriousness with which the authorities are addressing the incident. The purpose of the visit was to assess the situation on the ground, engage with community leaders and residents, and prevent further escalation of the conflict.

During the visit, Dr. Pelpuo expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and urged all parties to exercise restraint, emphasizing the importance of peace and adherence to the rule of law. He called on community members to resolve disputes through dialogue and lawful means, stressing that violence would not be tolerated.

DCOP Yeribaare reassured residents of the police’s commitment to maintaining law and order and announced that investigations into the incident are ongoing. He warned against acts of violence and urged the community to channel grievances through appropriate legal channels.

The Secretary to the Waala overlord , Jimpenhi Naa Kadri Ibrahim also appealed for calm and unity, He emphasized that peaceful resolution and community cohesion are essential for development and stability.

Authorities in Wa have reiterated their collective commitment to working together to ensure lasting peace and stability in Dondoli , calling for continued dialogue and cooperation among all stakeholders.
