During the hospital visit, Lomotey engaged personally with the victims, as well as their families, offering them words of encouragement during this difficult time. This interaction was not just a formal courtesy; it conveyed a sincere recognition of the victims' suffering and the impact of crime on individuals and families.
In a statement issued following the visit, Corporal Rashid Abdulai of the Upper West Police Public Affairs Department emphasized the importance of the police's role in the community. He noted that such engagements are crucial for building trust and cooperation between law enforcement and the public. The recent robbery incident has provoked heightened concern within the Wa community, compelling the police to take proactive measures not only in investigating the crime but also in addressing the emotional and psychological needs of the victims. The Upper West Regional Police Command has reiterated its dedication to investigating the incident thoroughly and bringing the perpetrators to justice.
The visit of the Upper West regional police commander also provided an opportunity to reassure the community that the police force is actively responding to their concerns and working diligently to maintain order and protect citizens from crime. In light of this incident, local law enforcement is reviewing security measures and community engagement protocols to prevent future occurrences.
The Upper West regional police have pledged to keep the public informed as new developments arise in the case, while also continuing their outreach efforts.
