The Upper West Parliamentary Caucus has called on contractors handling major road projects in the region to accelerate construction while upholding quality standards to ensure timely completion.
This appeal followed an inspection tour on Wednesday of ongoing works on the Wa–Tumu and Han–Lawra roads, part of the government’s “Big Push” infrastructure initiative. The inspection was led by Dr. Sebastian Sandaare, Caucus Leader and Member of Parliament for Daffiama-Busie-Issa, alongside MPs Peter Lanchene Toobu (Wa West), Anthony Mwinkaara Sumah (Nadowli-Kaleo), and Bede Anwataazumo Ziedeng (Lawra).
As part of their oversight mandate, the caucus is also reviewing progress on the Wa–Bole–Bamboi–Wenchi road, engaging stakeholders to address challenges impacting the project.
Speaking to Info Radio, Dr. Sandaare noted a marked improvement in contractors’ commitment since the Roads and Highways Minister’s visit a few months ago, expressing optimism about the projects’ advancement.
