Upper West FDA Intensifies Enforcement of Food Safety Standards Among Food Vendors

The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) in the Upper West Region says it is stepping up efforts to ensure strict compliance with food safety regulations among food vendors to prevent contamination and food-borne illnesses.

Mr. Kelvin Dafaare, Regional Director of the FDA, told Info Radio that the Authority is working closely with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to guarantee that food production environments remain safe and suitable for human consumption.

Mr. Dafaare emphasized the need for food vendors to be vigilant about their operating locations, advising them to avoid areas prone to pest infestations.

He also urged consumers to exercise caution when buying food and to report vendors operating in unsafe or unhygienic conditions, highlighting the importance of public safety.

These reinforced measures demonstrate the FDA’s commitment to protecting public health through improved food safety practices.
