Siiriyiri to Host 2025 District Farmers’ Day in the Wa West District

Siiriyiri, a farming community in the Guo Electoral Area of the Wa West District, has been selected to host the 2025 District Farmers’ Day, scheduled for December 5, 2025. The announcement was made by Ibrahim Rasheed on Info Radio . The District Agriculture Director confirmed that the Wa West District Assembly made the decision to showcase the community’s agricultural achievements.

According to Mr. Rasheed, over 20 farmers have been identified by agricultural extension officers for assessment and potential recognition during the event. He urged farmers to arrive early, as activities are set to commence precisely at 10:00 a.m., and emphasized the opportunity for farmers to be recognized as the “Best Farmer of 2025.”

The event will feature ground awards, encouraging farmers to bring their seeds, livestock, and farm inputs for competition. “Farmers stand a chance to win awards by showcasing their best produce and practices,” Mr. Rasheed stated.

Hon. Osuman Adams, the Assembly Member for the area, expressed gratitude to the District Assembly for selecting Siiriyiri as the host community. He described the event as a significant opportunity for the electoral area to celebrate agricultural progress and recognize the hard work of local farmers.
