Salvius Beni has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of Deputy Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Upper West Region.

In a statement announcing his bid, the former student leader and entrepreneur said his decision was driven by a commitment to strengthen party structures, improve communication across all levels of the party, and support mobilisation efforts ahead of future elections.

He pledged to promote discipline, transparency, teamwork, and effective coordination within the party while working to maintain the NDC’s electoral dominance in the region.

“Together, we shall build an NDC rooted in Unity, Stability, and Development,” he stated.

Salvius Beni, a native of Wa, was born to Albert Beni and Vivien Nuzagl, both educationists and long-time supporters of the NDC. His political interest was influenced at an early age by the late Edward Salia, whom he describes as a mentor.

His political leadership journey began at St. Francis Xavier Junior Seminary, where he served as Vice President of the Jirapa Area Students Union. He later rose through the ranks of the Tertiary Education Institutions Network at the University of Professional Studies, Accra, serving first as Secretary in 2019 and subsequently as President during the 2020/2021 academic year.

During his tenure as TEIN President, the NDC won two out of three polling stations on campus in the 2020 general elections. He also led several organisational initiatives, including campus outreach programmes and reforms aimed at strengthening the student wing. Beni also served as a research assistant to former Chereponi MP Samuel Abdulai Jabanyite between 2019 and 2021.

Outside politics, he worked with Empire Domus as Project Manager and Procurement Officer before establishing ALSALSY Limited, an infrastructure development firm operating in construction, energy, real estate, and logistics.

Although his 2022 bid to become National TEIN Coordinator was unsuccessful, party insiders say the experience contributed to his growth and understanding of party administration.

With his latest declaration, Salvius Beni says he is ready to work with party stakeholders to strengthen the NDC in the Upper West Region and help position the party for victory in the 2028 general elections.
