Rotary Club of Wa impacts lives of over 23,000 in Upper West


The Rotary Club of Wa has impacted the lives of over 23,000 people in the Upper West Region through the execution of various projects in the region worth over USD65,000.00 in the 2021/2022 Rotary Year.


The projects included the donation of twelve boreholes for communities and Community base Health Planning and Services (CHPS) facilities in six Municipalities and Districts in partnership with the Florence Oregon (USA).


Mr Gaeten Kala, the Immediate Past President (IPP) of the Rotary Club of Wa, revealed this at the sixth handing-over ceremony of the club in Wa, which also witnessed the induction of three new members into the club.


Representatives from the Rotary Clubs of Tamale and Techiman among others also attended the event.


Mr Stephen Mwinkaara, the Rotarian President (RP) of the Rotary Club of Wa, said the club would be operating under the theme: “Imagine Rotary” in the 2022/2023 rotary year.


He urged Rotarians in the northern zone to work in partnership for the collective improvement of the zone for sustained impact on the lives of the people in the area in the 2022/2023 Rotary year.


Mr Baba Alargi Awal, Past Assistant Governor of Rotary District 9102, admonished the members of the club to be guided by the Rotary Four Way Test.


He also urged the new members of the club to extend the spirit of Rotary to the communities and to perform their share of the club serves assigned them as members.
