Wa Central NDC Communication Officer-elect calls for unity after constituency polls

Newly elected National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communication Officer for Wa Central, Mr. Osman Tiani Umar, has urged party members to set aside their differences and unite ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Mr Umar, who won the position with 1,142 votes in the constituency executive elections held over the weekend, described his victory as humbling. Although he said he had been confident of winning, he acknowledged the strong interest in the contest.
He said the communication officer role had attracted particular attention because it serves as the party’s public voice, with exchanges on social media further raising the profile of the race.
Mr Umar said his immediate priority was to reconcile members who had been aggrieved during the contest, including his main contender, Abubakari Nurideen. He pledged to bring members together, strengthen public engagement and promote disciplined communication in support of the NDC and its eventual parliamentary candidate.
