Residents of Dabo-Siira Demand Improved Telecommunication Services Amid Frustration

Residents of Dabo-Siira, a farming community in the Dabo Electoral Area of Wa West District are voicing growing frustration over the community’s inadequate telecommunication infrastructure. Reports indicate that residents often go more than two weeks without any mobile network signal, and attempts to access communication through tall trees or elevated positions yield only marginal call quality.

Madam Vida Nebenaa, one of the residents, appealed to non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and relevant stakeholders to assist in providing reliable telecommunication services to the community. “Our phones have become practically useless,” she lamented during an interview with Info Radio.

Another resident, Madam Modesta Naalong, emphasized the urgency of the situation, noting that Dabo is a developing community where access to communication is critical. She highlighted that residents frequently have to climb nearby hills just to make or receive calls, underscoring the severity of the network issues.

Mr. Inusah Wantuota also expressed his frustrations, stating that having a mobile phone is often futile since it may take several days to connect to a network. The community’s lack of reliable communication services continues to hinder social and economic activities, prompting calls for immediate action from telecommunication providers and authorities.
