Residents of Buka bemoan poor telecommunication services in the community


Residents of Buka in the Wa West District have bemoaned the poor telecommunication network services in the community.


The residents said the situation is negatively affecting their social and economic activities.


They said they are not able to contact any person or institution for assistant in times of emergency.


The Assembly Member for Buka Electoral Area, Nicholas Gbara, told Info News that they sometime had to climb a tree or search for a specific location where they can get network reception.


The Assembly Member said he has written to Mobile Telecommunication Network, MTN to come to their aid but that the situation still persist.


According to him, the Wa West District Assembly has promised to install network poles in all affected communities but that the COVID-19 pandemic had disrupted the process.
