Tensions are rising in the regional football fraternity as angry football supporters and sympathizers have openly expressed their dissatisfaction with the leadership of the Regional Football Association (RFA), chaired by Yahaya Saadugu Biyad.
The discontent was visibly demonstrated at the BK Adama Resource center in Wa, where fans gathered during the ongoing Women Division One Middle League matches.
Protesters held placards with bold inscriptions such as:
“No Progress With Biyad,”
“RFA Sold Division 1 Slots,”
“We Will Resist Poor RFA Leadership,”
“Biyad Must Go,”
“New Leadership For RFA,” and
“Biyad Is Killing The Game.”

According to many in the region, the current state of football—from juvenile to Division II—has seen significant decline under the current administration. They accuse the RFA of mismanagement, lack of transparency, and decisions that have demoralized clubs and discouraged potential investors.
“We’re witnessing the slow death of grassroots football,” one protester lamented. “The leadership has lost touch with the needs of clubs, players, and fans. We need a change now.”
There are also allegations that the RFA mishandled the allocation of Division One slots, further fueling the anger among stakeholders.
Calls for accountability and reform are growing louder as stakeholders demand urgent intervention from higher football authorities to salvage the integrity of the game in the region.
Despite the protests, the D2ML matches continue under heavy scrutiny, with many awaiting the response of Chairman Yahaya Biyad and the RFA to the mounting pressure.
