President Mahama Reassigns Pelpuo as Minister of State for Special Initiatives

President John Dramani Mahama has reassigned Hon. Abdul-Rashid Pelpuo as Minister of State for Special Initiatives, as part of further changes to his government announced on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.


Mr Pelpuo, who previously served as Minister for Labour, Employment and Job Creation, has been replaced in that role by Hon. Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum.


The changes were announced in a statement signed by the Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu.


In the same reshuffle, the President reassigned the Deputy Minister for Defence, Hon. Ernest Brogya Genfi, as a Presidential Advisor on National Resilience and Emergency Preparedness.

According to the statement, the reassignments take immediate effect.
