People of Jongfian Appeal for Dam

The people of Jongfian, a community in the Jongfian electoral area are appealing to the government to construct a dam to augment the water supply in the community and to also provide employment opportunities.

They said apart from the lack of adequate potable water supply in the community, they also lack enough water supply to be able to engage in any economic activities in the dry season.

Speaking to Info Radio, a member of the community, Langzimbo Rashid said it is usually a struggle for water and idleness of the youth in the community without anything to do.

Complaining about the insecurity situation in the community, Madam Eunice Ali said it would be of help should they get a dam so that when they don’t get enough good yields, they can focus on irrigation farming.

Coupled with the lack of enough boreholes, Langzimbo Rashid said the government should come to their aid with potable water.
