The Assembly Member of the Owlo Electoral Area in the Daffiama-Bussei-Issa District, Mr. Amatus Zuzie, has lamented the absence of electricity in some parts of the community.
He stated that the deprivation has not only hindered the residents' daily lives but has also impeded the community's growth and development.
He noted that the community was connected to electricity during the time of Abu Kankuubata Kansangabata as the Nadwoli-Kaleo District Chief Executive (DCE). He added that only houses along the road have been connected to electricity.
“When you enter the community you will find out that some areas are without electricity. The DCE during the last elections extended electricity to a section of the community. The rest of the community is still not connected to electricity,” he said.
He lamented that health facilities in the community struggle to operate efficiently, students face hurdles in accessing digital learning resources, and local businesses encounter difficulties in operating smoothly. He mentioned that there is no street light in the community.
Mr. Zuzie urged the authorities to prioritize the provision of electricity to the Owlo community.
He emphasized that electrifying the community would not only enhance the residents' quality of life but also stimulate economic activities and foster social progress.
