Niator Kuoro celebrates 25th Anniversary of his Enskinment

Niator Kuoro and the President of United Traditional Rulers, Kuoro Baracheh Nlowie Baninye II celebrated the 25th anniversary of his enskinment on the Niator skin.


The Silver Jubilee was celebrated under the theme “Celebrating a Passionate Leader, Forging Unity and Development” brought together people of all walks of life, especially indigenes of Niator, friends from the diaspora and other traditional rulers to pay homage to Kuoro Baracheh Nlowie Baninye II whose 25-year reign has brought about peace and stability in the traditional area.


Kuoro Baninye II speaking to the media during the celebration highlighted some of his achievements.


“I came to this skin when there was no even a school in this community; I can say today people have graduated to university in this community. Every community in this traditional area is now having a school.”


“The traditional area is now blessed with two secondary schools though not completed is through my efforts. We have a traditional festival being celebrated every year is through my efforts,” he said.


He added that the Buwa Customs Land Secretariat was set up under his leadership to manage the land in the traditional area to bring peace and unity among the people.


“And I can also tell you all the communities in the entire Traditional Area is being connected to national grid is under my leadership,” he added.

Despite the community's successes over the last 25 years, Kuoro Baninye believes unemployment remains a pressing developmental challenge.


“As a leader when you see your people are not happy, they are not satisfied, there is no job for them is a big challenge.  Is up to you as a leader to make sure your people are living and is taken care of.”


Kuoro Baninye II emphasized the need for the government to work on the road infrastructure in the Sissala West District. He also called on the government to complete the Zini E-block project to benefit the people.

He said “government I would just say in a nutshell they should try to complete the senior secondary that is there in Zini, the E-block. They should try to make sure our roads are tarred, because I would say is only Sissala area that you can see roads that are not tarred in the whole country and in the region.”


The District Chief Executive for Sissala West, Madam Ayisha Batong Hor commended the chief and people of Niator for the silver jubilee celebration and said the government is committed to collaborating with traditional rulers to bring the needed development to the Sissala West District.


She mentioned that the government is working hard to address the poor road network in the area through the Gulf of Guinea Northern Regions Social Cohesion (SOCO) Project.


The Suke Kuoro, Kuoro Dakui Yiriminoh Zimi III who was the guest of honor for the occasion eulogized the Niator Kuoro.


“As we all assemble here to join my uncle on this journey of reflection I wish to congratulate you and also extend my warmest regards to the people of Niator.”


“Kuoro Baracheh Nlowie Baninye II ascended the throne from 1999 to 2024 as a monumental brand and standard bearer of the leadership amplified by growth and development, an icon of leadership and an inspiration to the Sissala youth,” he stated.


He also challenged the youth of Niator to inculcate the charismatic leadership qualities of Kuoro Baracheh Nlowie Baninye II.


“I am challenging the youth not only to perceive the chieftaincy institution as a symbol of authority, eminence and excellence but also to inculcate the charismatic leadership qualities which embody strong values, clear insight, motivating relationships and innovation action to perpetually inspire generations of Niator children yet be born.”


Kuoro Dakui Yiriminoh Zimi III encouraged the Niator Kuoro to use his new age to seek peace with all who matter so that “anytime we come together, we can celebrate without suspicion when we get the opportunity.”


The celebration was chaired by Bisi Naa Bernard Mornah, former National Chairman of the People National Convention (PNC).
