Nadowli-Kaleo DCE Confirms Receipt of Fertilizers for 2026 Farming Season

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Nadowli-Kaleo, Mary Haruna, has highlighted the progress being made under the government's agricultural support initiatives, announcing that the district has received 1,500 bags of fertilizer ahead of the 2026 farming season.

According to the DCE, the consignment comprises 1,000 bags of NPK fertilizer and 500 bags of Urea, which will be distributed to registered farmers through their cooperatives under the Feed Ghana Programme.

Hon. Haruna explained that the farmer registration exercise involved the submission of cooperative forms and the enrollment of farmers into recognized cooperatives. She said the process was designed to ensure that only eligible and registered farmers benefit from the fertilizer distribution programme. Personal information collected during registration, she noted, will support efficient distribution, auditing, and accountability.

She stressed that the fertilizers will be distributed exclusively to registered cooperatives and their members to promote transparency and ensure that the inputs reach their intended beneficiaries.

Addressing concerns over the government's Nkoko Nkitinkitin initiative, Hon. Haruna clarified that neither the Nadowli-Kaleo District nor the rest of the region has received its allocation of livestock. She dismissed reports claiming that chickens had already arrived and were distributed without public notice, describing the information as false.

The DCE assured residents that once the district receives its allocation under the programme, the animals will be distributed to individuals who successfully registered to participate.

Hon. Haruna expressed confidence that the fertilizer distribution and other government agricultural interventions will help improve farm productivity in the district and contribute to increased agricultural output.

She urged farmers to remain patient and rely on official communication channels for updates on the implementation of government programmes.
