The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Lambussie in the Upper West Region, Mr. Ireneous Basingbie Naawulle, has expressed profound appreciation to the people of the district for their prayers, guidance and continuous support since he assumed office.
In his New Year message to residents, Mr. Naawulle said he has enjoyed working with the people of Lambussie and the Member of Parliament Titus Kofi Beyuo, noting that the collaboration has been instrumental in the progress recorded so far. He commended residents for standing by the district assembly and pledged to continue engaging openly with them.
The DCE, however, used the occasion to issue a strong appeal to the youth, particularly regarding road safety during festive periods. He expressed concern over the increasing loss of young lives through motorbike accidents, especially during year-end travels.
He urged young people to ride responsibly, stressing the need to reduce speed and exercise patience on the road. According to him, reckless riding is depriving the district of valuable young people who would have played key roles in future leadership and development.
“We are losing our young ones too much,” he lamented, emphasizing that arriving safely at one’s destination is more important than speed.
Mr. Naawulle also called on residents to uphold peace and unity across all communities in the district. He encouraged people to set aside their differences, respect diverse traditions and work together as one people, describing residents as “one blood” despite cultural variations.
Touching on development, the DCE expressed gratitude to the Member of Parliament for the strong working relationship with the district assembly, describing it as critical to ongoing and future development efforts.
He revealed that several projects are underway and assured residents that more development initiatives are expected in 2026.
He mentioned efforts to improve feeder roads across the district, noting that some areas are being accessed and worked on using the District Road Improvement Project (DRIP) machines. He appealed to chiefs and community leaders for continued support to ensure the successful implementation of planned projects.
Concluding his message, Mr. Naawulle reiterated his commitment to inclusive leadership, stating that his office remains open to ideas and constructive contributions from all residents.
He encouraged stakeholders and citizens to freely offer support and suggestions as the district works toward accelerated development in the New Year.
