A disagreement over the proposed location of a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) school in the Daffiama-Bussie-Issa Constituency have been resolved after Member of Parliament for the constituency, Dr Sabastian Sandaare, and former Executive Director of the National Service Scheme, Michael Kombor, reconciled following an altercation earlier this week.
The misunderstanding, which reportedly occurred on Monday at the Bussie Naa’s Palace, escalated into a heated exchange between the two leaders over issues relating to the siting of a proposed TVET institution in the constituency.
Dr Sandaare in a statement on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 said both leaders had decided to “choose peace” and move beyond the incident in the interest of development in the area.
“Following a misunderstanding and arguments that erupted on Monday at the Bussie Naa’s Palace, which led to regrettable behavior between us, we have reconciled. We decided to put the past behind us, so peace can prevail and development can reach our communities,” he stated.
The MP added that he and Mr Kombor had “smoked the peace pipe” and agreed to work together to advance development projects across the constituency.
As part of the renewed cooperation, the two leaders, together with officials from the TVET Secretariat, embarked on a joint site inspection tour on Today, Tuesday May 20, 2026 to assess proposed locations for technical institutes in Bussie and Daffiama.

According to Dr Sandaare, a technical team from the Secretariat inspected the proposed site for the Bussie Technical Institute and subsequently approved the establishment of the school.
“This follows several letters submitted to the Secretariat requesting a TVET school for Bussie. I’m grateful for this good news. Bussie will be getting its technical school,” he said.
The inspection team also included former District Chief Executive for Daffiama-Bussie-Issa, Fidelis Zumakpeh.
The delegation is expected to continue to Daffiama for another inspection of a proposed site for the Daffiama Technical Institute.
Dr Sandaare urged residents and leaders in the constituency to remain calm and united as efforts continue to secure more development projects for the district.
“Development is achieved when unity reigns and I will continue to admonish all constituents to remain calm as we lobby for more projects and developments,” he said.
