Kojokperi North Assemblyman Appeals for Community Centre, Youth Demand Employment Support

The Assemblyman for Kojokperi North Electoral Area, Sidique Ali, has made a passionate appeal for support to construct a community centre in Kojokperi.

He says the absence of a dedicated facility is hindering the community’s ability to organize vital meetings and plan for development.

“Our population has increased and the community is developing, but we do not have a common place where we meet to discuss or take decisions about our development. It is always challenging to get a place for large community gatherings,” he told Info News.

Hon. Ali revealed that multiple appeals have been submitted to the District Assembly of Daffiama-Bussie-Issa (DBI) without any response. He is now calling on individuals, NGOs, and government agencies to come to the aid of the community.

“We have made several appeals to the district assembly to build a community centre for us, but the assembly is yet to respond,” he added.

Meanwhile, the youth of Kojokperi have expressed growing concern over the lack of employment opportunities in the area. Many of them, despite completing various levels of education, continue to struggle with joblessness.

A youth leader, Abdulai Gafaru, appealed to the government to prioritize Kojokperi youth in employment initiatives.

“There are many of us here who have completed school and are actively seeking jobs, but we are rarely successful when we apply. We need support,” he said.

The dual appeal highlights the urgent need for infrastructure and youth empowerment to support Kojokperi’s ongoing development.
