Horseman Shoes CEO Donates Shoes to Siiru Basic School

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Horseman Shoes and Leather Company Limited, Mr Tonyi Senayah has donated 140 pair of shoes and assorted drinks to pupils of Siiru D/A Basic School in the Wa West District.

Mr Senayah said the donation was to show a kind gesture to the school.

“I followed Joy Fm’s documentary; Ghana’s Schools of Shame by Joojo Cobbinah and when the idea came that I wanted to support one of the schools, I reached out to him to suggest a school for me and his choice was Siiru. I asked why? He mentioned that throughout his travels to do the documentary he was deeply touched by the communal spirit of Siiru.

And indeed when we came here they exemplified the spirit of the communal spirit. It’s a kind gesture from us to also support their education”, Mr Senayah added.

Madam Don Mahatebel, the Headmistress of the school indicated that most of the pupils come to school barefoot. She added that the donation will increase enrolment and teaching and learning will be effective.

Mr Issah Nomah, the Parent-Teacher Association Chairman of the school expressed gratitude to the philanthropist for the donation.
