Ghana to Host Inaugural U-20 WAFU A&B Boys Cup in June 2025

Ghana is set to host the maiden edition of the U-20 WAFU A&B Boys Cup from June 15 to 30, 2025. The tournament will take place at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, with the final slated for the University of Ghana Stadium in Accra.

This follows Ghana’s successful hosting of the CAF African Schools Football Championship in April at the same venue in Accra.

The tournament will bring together all 16 member countries from both WAFU Zones A and B. Participating nations include Cape Verde, The Gambia, Guinea Bissau, Guinea, Mali, Liberia, Mauritania, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Niger, Nigeria, Togo, and host nation Ghana.

This will be the first time both WAFU zones will compete in a combined U-20 tournament. Previously, WAFU A and WAFU B organized separate competitions, which also served as qualifiers for the U-20 CAF Africa Cup of Nations.

The U-20 WAFU A&B Boys Cup is expected to provide increased competitive opportunities and foster football development across the West African sub-region.
