GDA inaugurates Upper West Regional Draught Association


The Ghana Draught Association (GDA) in collaboration with the National Sports Authority (NSA) has inaugurated the Upper West Regional Draught Association.


The inauguration took place in Wa, the Upper West Regional capital on Saturday, July 23, 2022.


Speaking at the inauguration at the inaugural ceremony, Mr Isaac Asare, the National Secretary for Ghana Draught Association, said the objective of the association is to bring the draught fraternity under one authority to regulate its activities and to promote the draught game across the country.


Mr. Asare noted that the draught association is to ensure discipline among its members as he urged the members to be self-discipline.


He thus called the Upper West Draught Association to form sub committees in other to ensure a functional authority.


Mr Adams Mahama, a representative from the National Sports Authority has charged the association to liaise with the NSA when lobbing for funds and also work with the concerned stakeholders, including the media.


On his part, Conrad Nuzagla, the Chairman of the Upper West Regional Draught Association commended the GDA for expediting action on the swift inauguration of the regional association.


He assured that the executives will work hard for the development of draught in the upper west region.


The 10-member executive committee was made of the Regional Director of the NSA, Mohammed Jeduah Ibrahim (Co- Chairman), Conrad Nuzala (Chairman), and Tahiru Adjetey (Vice Chairman).


Others were Adams Joshua (Secretary), Seidu Osman Gban-ni (Assistant Secretary), Bashit Mahama (Organizer), Basit Pelpou (Assistant Organizer).


The rest included Raymond Tendau (Treasurer) and the Jingunah Yakubu Kadri (Assistant Treasurer).


Mr Isaac Asare, the National Secretary for Ghana Draught Association, swore in the executive committee.
