The Assembly Member for Funsi South Electoral Area, Mr Dimah Issifu Sanpuo has lamented about the inconsistent power supply in Funsi, the capital of the Wa East District.

According to the Assembly member, the inconsistent power supply is adversely affecting businesses in the district.

He indicated that the issue has now become a norm in the district because it has been happening over the past three years.

In an interview with Info Radio in Wa, Mr Dimah noted that they have never enjoyed a power supply for a week without low voltage or power outbreak.

“Another problem we are facing is electricity supply, it is critical. Funsi in general we have not use consistent power as a district capital for a full week. It is now a norm and it’s getting to about three years. I have to be emphatic and I’ll not mince words, we are not happy and we are not satisfied with the supply of electricity,” he stated.

He added that the community town water system supply comes to a halt whenever there is an inconsistent power supply.

Mr Dimah, thus, indicated that he has taken several measures at the district assembly meetings and also reported the matter to PURC but the situation remains the same.

Some residents who spoke to Info Radio in Funsi expressed their disappointment over the erratic power supply in the community.
