Don’t leave your parental responsibilities to only teachers-Girl Child Coordinator urged parents

The Upper West Regional Girl Child Coordinator, Madam Janet Kpan has urged parents to take up the responsibility of training their children to grow into responsible adults.

She said that responsibility should not be left to the teachers alone. Madam Kpan, who said this in an interview with Info Radio, added that correcting a child is not only through beating but there are so many modes the parents can use to correct their children.

She observed that children also learn from what their parents do hence the need for the parents not to fight in the presence of their children.

She started that, it is important for parents to adopt positive methods of correcting their children's behavior.

Madam Matilda Chireh, the Upper West Regional Director of the Department of Children, said discipline should be done to correct the child not to punish.

She stressed the need for families to sit with their children all the time to correct them.
