The chief of Nator- Duori, Naa Maangbo, has publicly voiced strong concerns over the perceived failure of politicians to uphold their commitments to the community. Speaking exclusively to Info Radio, Naa Maangbo highlighted that in 2020, the community collectively agreed not to participate in voting as a protest against the lack of development projects such as roads, schools, and healthcare facilities.
Despite reconsidering this stance, he lamented that the community’s expectations remain unfulfilled. “The situation regarding our school, roads, and clinic has not improved,” Naa Maangbo said. “Politicians have failed to honor their promises after elections, which breaches the social contract they entered into with us.”
The community leader emphasized that if politicians continue to neglect their commitments, the community may adopt a more assertive stance, including limiting political engagement within Nator -Duori. Additionally, Bernard Ang-Bana, a respected community elder, called on political representatives to fulfill their promises, particularly regarding the construction of a kindergarten (KG) school, which remains pending.
This development underscores ongoing frustrations within the community over unmet developmental needs and highlights the importance of accountability between political leaders and constituents.
Nator-Duori is a small farming community in the Nadowli-Kaleo district of the Upper West Region.
