Boys' and Girls' Brigade Inaugurated in Wa


Two companies of the Boys' and Girls' Brigade have been inaugurated in the Presbyterian and Methodist churches in the Upper West Region. The First Wa Company of the Boys' and Girls' Brigade was inaugurated at the Presbyterian Epiphany Congregation while the Second Wa Company of the Boys' and Girls' Brigade was inaugurated at the Reverend Paul Adu Methodist Cathedral on Sunday.

Speaking at the inaugural event, the National President of the Girls' Brigade Ghana, The Very Rev. Comfort Ruth Quartey-Papafio said the brigades exist to promote Christian values among young children and to nurture them to become responsible adults.

Rev David Agbloe, the Executive Secretary of the Boys' Brigade Ghana said the inauguration of the brigade in the Upper West Region meant a new dawn of hope in nurturing boys to grow into responsible persons in society especially.

Very Rev Isaac Justice Arhin-Yorke, the Bishop's Deputy and Chaplain of the Second Wa Company of the Brigades, admonished them to imbibe in their lives Christian and lead exemplary lives.

Captain of the Boys' Brigade of the First Wa Company, Officer Edmund Owusu Konadu expressed optimism in the prospects of the Brigade.
