Azumah Resources' maiden cycling race in Wa East takes off


Mineral extraction giant, Azumah Mineral Resources Limited (Ghana) is set to organize the maiden edition of cycling race in the Wa East district of the Upper West Region.


The event is scheduled to take off on Saturday, November 11, 2021 in the selected districts.


Mr. Solomon Dery, the Community Relations Officer of Azumah Mineral Resources in Nadowli spoke on Info Radio popular sports “info power sports”.


Speaking on the motive of the upcoming event, he mentioned that the event will lead to unity among the various communities in the district as well as strengthen the health being of participants.


He added that both women and men will take part in the competition. The both will cover a distance of about 20km starting from Wa municipal to Manwe whereas the girls will cover a short distance.


Mr. Solomon also elaborated on the prizes to be given to participating contestants. He mentioned that the participating communities will receive a cash amount which ranges from GH500 - GH1500 for each participating communities.


Also, individuals participating who will win from 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions will go home with flat screen televisions, refrigerators, knapsack sprayers and bicycles for both women and men.


This event will start tomorrow at 6:30am at the Ministry of Food Agriculture junction in Wa. The therefore call on all help make this event a success.


And all participants must be by the roadside tomorrow morning to be conveyed to the start point.
