Ahmadiyya leader in Ghana urges urgent road rehabilitation in the Upper West Region

Maulvi Mohammed Bin Salih, Ameer and Missionary-in-Charge of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission in Ghana, has voiced grave concerns over the deteriorating condition of roads in the Upper West Region, with particular emphasis on the Wa–Sawla–Bole–Bamboi route.

Speaking at the 40th Annual National Conference of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Elders Association held at JAHAN College of Education under the theme “Upholding Moral Excellence in the Digital Age: The Role of Ansarullah,” Maulvi Salih underscored the critical need for investment in road infrastructure as a means to foster social cohesion and promote long-term stability. He appealed to the government to prioritize road construction projects to serve the traveling public effectively. Maulvi Salih highlighted that improved transportation not only facilitates the movement of vehicles but also enables the exchange of people, ideas, and resources—foundations essential for sustainable growth and an enhanced standard of living.

Also addressing the conference, Rev. Father Aloysious Nuolabongnn, speaking on behalf of the Catholic Bishop of the Wa Diocese, Most Rev. Francis Bomansaa, emphasized the vital role of religious bodies in nation-building. He pointed out that by working together, religious organizations can amplify their voices on critical social issues, advocate more effectively for justice, and mobilize resources toward community development.

Rev. Father Aloysious urged religious leaders to set aside minor differences and unite around a shared vision of a harmonious and prosperous society founded on ethical principles common to all major religions. He further stressed that moral values—not intelligence alone—should guide daily life, calling for the rejection of corruption, the promotion of love for neighbors, and the advancement of peace throughout society.
