A total of 57 young men and women in the Nadowli/Kaleo District have formally transitioned from training to active service, following a ceremonial handover by the Youth Employment Agency (YEA). The recruits, who underwent rigorous training, are set to serve as Community Protection Assistants, Community Medical First Responders, and Fire Service Assistants.
The event, held in Nadowli, marked a significant step in youth employment and community development. During the brief but impactful ceremony, the recruits were officially handed over to their respective agencies to commence their roles in enhancing safety and emergency response within the district.

Mr. Remus Kpan, District Director of the Youth Employment Agency, underscored the dual purpose of the initiative. “This is not just about providing jobs; it is an opportunity for our youth to serve and uplift their communities,” he stated. Mr. Kpan also highlighted some of the challenges faced by the agency, including resource constraints and difficulties in disseminating information about employment opportunities to rural populations.
The Member of Parliament for Nadowli/Kaleo, Hon. Anthony Sumah, urged the youth to demonstrate dedication and commitment in their new roles. He emphasized the government's policy to integrate 40 percent of YEA recruits into security agencies, encouraging the young recruits to seize this opportunity to build a safer community.
Supt. Daniel Sogah, District Commander of the Ghana Police Service, called on the youth to uphold the law and serve diligently. “Your commitment and integrity are vital in ensuring that you serve your communities effectively and become positive role models,” he advised.
This initiative reflects ongoing efforts by the government to empower youth, promote community safety, and foster national development through targeted employment programs. The district authorities expressed optimism that these newly deployed personnel would significantly contribute to the well-being and security of the Nadowli/Kaleo district.
