40-year-old man from Jinpensi adjudged overall best farmer for DBI District

DBI Over Best Farmer

Mr Mahamadu Fuseini, a 40-year-old man from Jinpensi, was declared the overall best farmer in the Daffiama-Bussie-Issa (DBI) District during the 39th Farmers' Day celebration.

He is involved in animal and crop farming, producing crops such as beans, Bambara beans, soybeans, maize and groundnuts.

Mr Mahamadu Fuseini has been farming since childhood and has vast experience in the field. As the winner, he received a number of prizes, including an Apsonic 125 motorbike, weedicide, cutlass, boots, and a certificate.

The district also recognized other farmers, such as the best youth farmer, best physically challenged farmer, and best woman farmer.

The 1st and 2nd runners-up were Mr Abu Tabiasenaa from Duon and Madam Ashietu Zingu-Naah from Touri, respectively.

In an interview with the media in Jenpensi, Mr Mahamadu Fuseini expressed his excitement and called on people in the district to be inspired by his achievement and work hard, hoping that they too will be recognized and celebrated one day.

Mohammed Wanye, a visually impaired farmer, was honored as the best physically challenged farmer.

He revealed that identifying crops from weeds was a major challenge for him and that the unavailability of fertilizer was a hindrance to farming.
