The Assembly Member for Zingu Electoral Area in the Wa Municipality, Mr Abdul-Wahab Nuhu has shared sentiments with the chiefs and people of the area regarding the destructions caused by cattle on their farms.
He noted that it was unfathomable that residents of a farming community cannot cultivate crops to feed their families due to cattle influx.
Speaking on Info Radio’s Ti Zine Yiri Yele, the Assembly Member revealed that he has a number of cases to mitigate involving farmers and cattle owners.
He intimated that the destruction of farms and farm products is undermining peace and security within the area.
Meanwhile, the chiefs and people of the Zingu Divisional Area have imposed sanctions on cattle herding to curtail the menace of destruction on farms.
Commenting on the sanctions, the Assembly Member said they are necessary to reduce the incidences of destruction caused by cattle on farms.
He urged cattle owners and herders to take good control of their animals to prevent them from destroying others’ farms.
