Naa Ali Seidu Pelpuo Yelmana, the Chief of Busa community in the Wa Municipality has urged the youth to take their academic studies seriously to become responsible leaders in future.

Naa Yelmana made the call in his address during the 3rd Homecoming of Busa Youth Association in Busa.

The 2023 Homecoming of the Busa Youth Association was held on the theme: Unity, Diversity and Development, the Role of the Youth.

Naa Yelmana encouraged the youth in Busa to take their studies seriously in order to get scholarships to further their studies and brighten their future.

He mentioned that education is the only tool that can develop the Busa community.

“I have full scholarships available for students who want to study civil engineering or oil and gas engineering at Lakeside University College. Any student from this community who studies science and passes successfully is eligible for the scholarship,” he added.

The Wa Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr Issahaku Tahiru Moomin, who was the guest of honor in his speech, advised the youth to channel their energies towards unity and development.

“I wish to advise the youth to channel their energies towards unity and development, without this there will not be any meaningful development. We are people with diverse backgrounds with a common destiny,” he stated.

He advised the youth to embrace peace and unity and not allow themselves to be used by politicians as we approach the 2024 elections.

Mr Issahaku stated that “the government of his Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is leaving no stone unturned to improve the fortunes of the youth as he wholly support the initiative of the African Continental Free Trade Area.”
