Wa West DCE Announces Land Allocation and Support for Residents Displaced by Market Project

The District Chief Executive for Wa West, Hon. Richard Wulo, has announced that the Poyentanga Traditional Authorities have generously released four acres of land to resettle residents affected by the demolition of their homes for the construction of the new 24-Hour Market. Speaking on Info Radio’s Afternoon Current Affairs Program Tizine Yiri Yela , Hon. Wulo explained that the land was secured through the intervention of the Wa West District Assembly, emphasizing the government’s commitment to supporting displaced families.


According to the DCE, a total of 15 houses were demolished to pave the way for the market development. The newly acquired land will be allocated to the displaced residents, enabling them to rebuild their homes and restore their livelihoods. Hon. Wulo also revealed that the District Assembly is actively working to support the affected residents with the construction of temporary shelters, ensuring their immediate needs are met during this transitional period.


The Member of Parliament for Wa West, Hon. Peter Lanchene Toobu, has pledged to provide building materials to assist residents in rebuilding their homes. Hon. Wulo commended the residents for their patience, understanding, and peaceful approach in addressing the situation, reaffirming the Assembly’s dedication to ensuring they receive adequate support.
