The Wa Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Alhaji Nurah Issah Danwaana, has called on residents to prioritize proper sanitation practices to foster a cleaner and healthier environment. Speaking during an interview on Info Radio morning news current affairs program “Zienyaaye Upper West” , Hon. Danwaana highlighted the critical role of sanitation in disease prevention and overall public wellbeing.


He explained that effective sanitation encompasses a broad spectrum of practices, including proper waste disposal, access to clean water, and the promotion of hygienic habits. To reinforce these efforts, the Municipal Assembly is taking proactive steps by equipping assembly members with logistics and resources to mobilize communities more effectively. The formation of designated sanitation zones, in collaboration with environmental officers and community leaders, aims to enhance coordination and streamline cleanup initiatives.


Hon. Danwaana emphasized that community participation is vital to sustaining high sanitation standards. He urged residents to embrace good hygiene practices and participate actively in educational campaigns designed to raise awareness about cleanliness. The municipal chief underscored that maintaining a pristine environment is a shared responsibility, requiring collaboration among local authorities, organizations, and community members working collectively toward a healthier Wa.
