Residents of Kpenaateng , a farming community in the Meteu Electoral Area of the Wa West District are appealing to the Wa West District Assembly and the government to establish a health facility in the community and enrol more eligible residents on the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) programme.

The community has no health facility, forcing residents to travel elsewhere for medical care. Poor road conditions make those journeys more difficult, residents say, particularly for pregnant women who may need urgent attention.

Speaking to Info News during a community engagement ,a resident Joseph Kpenaa called for urgent government action to improve access to healthcare.

Residents are also seeking an expansion of LEAP coverage. While some community members have benefited from earlier and recent phases of the programme, they say many other eligible residents remain excluded.

Daniel Kpenaadungboma, speaking through Info News, urged the government to assess those still waiting and enrol additional qualified residents.
