The Upper West Regional Police Command has arrested a man who is suspected to have abducted an 11-year-old girl in Wa, Info Radio has gathered.
The information gathered indicated that the victim of the suspected kidnapping incident was picked up by the suspect and one other accomplice around the Upper Regional Hospital on Saturday, April 22, 2023, which was Salah Day.
A parent of the victim who only gave his name as Abu, narrating the incident to Info Radio said they reported the incident to the police after an intensive search for the girl proved unsuccessful.
He indicated that the victim returned home on Tuesday night, April 25 and narrated her ordeal and how she escaped from the hands of her attackers.
Abu explained that they then reported to the police again about the story of the girl and subsequently saw the suspect around the Wadia Dam and called on the police for his arrest and investigation.
Info Radio can confirm that the suspect is currently in police custody to assist in investigations.
