The Wa East District Assembly has officially confirmed Mr. Adamu Sayibu as the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Wa East, following a decisive vote during today's assembly sitting.

In a transparent and spirited session, Mr. Sayibu garnered 28 votes in favor, representing 77.78 percent of the assembly members present, with 8 members voting against his confirmation. The vote outcome marks a significant milestone in his journey to serve as the district’s key development figure.

This confirmation follows a challenging period for Mr. Sayibu. During his initial nomination by President John Dramani Mahama two months ago, he failed to secure the necessary approval, with 23 out of 36 assembly members abstaining or voting against him, resulting in his rejection. Despite this setback, the President re-nominated Mr. Sayibu for the DCE position, citing confidence in his leadership qualities and commitment to the development of Wa East.

Today’s successful confirmation underscores a renewed trust in Mr. Sayibu’s capabilities and reflects the assembly’s collective support for his leadership. The assembly members expressed optimism about his ability to spearhead development initiatives and foster unity within the district.

With this confirmation, Mr. Sayibu is expected to commence his duties promptly, focusing on addressing local needs and advancing the development agenda of Wa East.
