Ullo community lacks adequate potable water - Assembly Member

The Assembly Member of Ullo Electoral Area in the Jirapa Municipality, Mr Ernest Nindor, has expressed worry about the inadequate sources of potable water at the Ullo community.

He said the community has been earmarked to benefit a small town water system but the project has been stalled for over a year now.

Mr Nindor, who expressed the worry in an interview with Info Radio, noted that his enquiries from the Jirapa Municipal Assembly indicate that the project has been stalled due to lack of funds.

The Assembly Member said due to the construction of the Small town water system at the area, the electoral area has been deprived of borehole projects from the assembly while the people struggle on daily basis to get water.

Mr Nindor stated that all efforts to get in touch with the contractor in charge of the project have not been successful as his calls and test message to the contractor were not responded to.

He therefore appealed to benevolent individuals and organisations to come to their aid by providing them with sources of potable water while they wait for the completion of the water system.

On education, the Assembly Member indicated that Ull-Tuopare, a community in his electoral area, needs to have a primary school block to cater for the education needs of the children in the area but it does not have.

While appealing for support from benevolent organisations and individuals, Mr Nindor said the community has also take steps to build the school.
