Residents of Tabiase in the Daffiama-Bussie Issa District have raised urgent concerns over the deteriorating infrastructure that threatens their access to water and transportation. Speaking on Info Radio, Mr. Baadie Sungdong, the Assembly Member for the Tabiase Electoral Area, highlighted the critical condition of the community dam and the damaged bridge connecting parts of the area.

Mr. Sungdong explained that the dam, a vital water source for communal activities and livestock, has dried up due to structural issues, rendering it unable to retain water during dry seasons. "During the dry season, the dam completely dries up, leaving residents and their animals without reliable water," he said. He further noted that during the rainy season, the situation worsens as floodwaters from the damaged bridge inundate the road, making movement difficult and hazardous.

The community leader appealed to both government agencies and non-governmental organizations to prioritize the reconstruction of the bridge and the rehabilitation of the dam. "These interventions are critical to ensuring sustainable access to water and safe transportation for our residents," Mr. Sungdong emphasized.

Additionally, Mr. Baawa Mahama, Chairman of the community’s Youth Committee, expressed concern over the plight of vulnerable groups, including persons with disabilities and the less privileged. He called on NGOs supporting vulnerable populations to extend their assistance to improve living conditions in Tabiase.
