SDD-UBIDS Pleads for release of seed money

The management of the Simon Diedong Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (SDD-UBIDS) has appealed to the government for the release of seed money to enhance its operations.

Chairman of the University Council, Kweku Yamoah Paintsil Esq, made the appeal when he addressed the second congregation of the university in Wa at the weekend, which saw 1,513 students awarded with various degree and diploma certificates.

“Permit me Mr President to use this opportunity once again to appeal to you as the President of the Republic of Ghana with regard to our seed money.

We regret to bring to your notice that in spite of our valiant efforts we have been unavailing to get these funds release to us,” he added.

Mr Paintsil also appealed to President Nana Addo Dakwa Akufo-Addo to see to the completion of some infrastructural projects in the university.

We’re once more appealing to his Excellency the President of the Republic of Ghana for his urgent attention to the completion of our lecture hall complex, our library complex as well as the construction of a 600 block capacity hostel facility and the administration block which we also require urgently”, he explained.

The Vice Chancellor of the SDD-UBIDS, Professor Phillip Duku Osei observed that the government’s non-payment of seed money to the University is a big challenge to its growth.

The best graduating student, Miss Antwi Charity in a valedictory speech, said the grandaunts “have a responsibility not just to our success but to the betterment of our communities and the world.”
