Sankana Youth Laud 24-Hour Market Initiative by Speaker Bagbin

Residents and youth in Sankana have commended Alban S.K. Bagbin, Speaker of the Parliament of Ghana, for plans to establish a 24-hour economy market in the community.

Speaking on Info Radio, the Youth Leader of Sankana, Eric Dakurah said the initiative would stimulate economic activity, generate employment, and strengthen commerce in the area. He noted that such infrastructure would create opportunities for young people while improving livelihoods across the community.

According to Mr. Dakurah, community leaders have already released land at the existing market site to facilitate construction. He added that additional land could be made available if the current space proves insufficient, underscoring residents’ readiness to support the project’s implementation.

He also emphasized that security arrangements would be prioritized to ensure a safe environment for traders and visitors expected to travel from nearby communities and neighboring countries. He said adequate protection would help guarantee smooth business operations and safeguard all participants.

The residents believe the proposed market aligns with broader efforts to expand economic activity and promote inclusive growth in Ghana, particularly in rural areas seeking sustainable development opportunities.
