RTI Commission Holds Public Forum in Wa

The Right to Information Commission (Rti) recently held a public forum in Wa to sensitize residents about their right to access information from public institutions and other private bodies in the country.

Mr. Yaw Sarpong Boateng, the Executive Secretary of the commission, spoke at the forum and explained their mandate to the general public.

He encouraged people to seek resolution from the commission for any grievances they may have encountered while trying to access information.

Mr. Sarpong noted that the main challenge they face is the lack of public awareness about the RTI law and how to access information from public institutions using it.

He observed that it will take some time for people to fully understand and appreciate the importance of the right to information.

The Executive Secretary assured people that they can seek redress from the RTI Commission if they have any complaints about accessing information using the RTI law.
