Residents of Kuzie appeal to gov't for irrigation dam

Residents of Kuzie community in the Eggu Electoral Area of the Wa West District have appealed to the government to come to their aid and construct an irrigation dam for them in the community.

Speaking to Info Radio at the community, Madam Patricia Gabriel, a resident, indicated that the unavailability of a dam in the community has affected their economic activities.

She mentioned that most women in Kuzie community are always struggling to cater for their families.

She added that if there was a dam in the community it would help them to do dry season farming in the community rather than traveling to other places to do head potting (kaayaaye) to support their husbands to take care of their families.

Mr. Gabriel, another resident in the community, also lamented that the lack of dam in the community has brought community members down in rearing of animals in the community

He mentioned that their animals do get water to drink during the dry season, causing some die and others travel far and fall prey of thief.

He appealed to the government and development partners to construct a dam to boost economic activities in the community.
