Residents of Kpaanguori, a community in the Mwal Electoral Area of the Jirapa Municipality in the Upper West Region, are calling on authorities to address the deplorable state of their roads. The predominant road in this area is the one linking the community to some other adjoining communities, including Tizza and Domwini.
The community, which has neither a school nor a health facility, relies solely on adjacent communities to meet these essential needs. However, during the rainy seasons, Kpaanguori is often cut off from Tizza, a community that provides these services and also serves as their commercial hub.
‘The challenges in our community are numerous, but one thing bedevilling us so much is our deplorable road. If the rains were to be intense by now, you wouldn’t have been able to visit us. The government should treat this as an urgent issue. Mr. Emmanuel Banebanoe lamented on behalf of community members in Kpaanguori.
Meanwhile, Mr. Tizu-aa Kuulanaa, a resident of Kpaaguori, shared his concerns and appealed to the new government and the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Jirapa to provide support in addressing this issue. ‘I don’t know our new MCE, but I’m sure he is aware of our problems. It’s our hope that he will visit us to see our plight for himself. I’ve lost confidence in the NDC and NPP, but let’s see what happens. He said, with a heavy heart.
Since the community is a farming community, they also seized the opportunity to call on the government to expedite processes that would ensure they derive the desired benefits of the Feed Ghana program.
