Residents of Kahaa express over poor road networks

Residents of Kahaa in the Nadowli-Kaleo District have expressed worry about the poor nature of the roads linking the Kahaa community to other communities and service centres.

They said the poor road network has been negatively impacting their socio-economic lives, especially in the wet season when the roads get muddy and unmotorable.

They said both the Kaleo-Ombo-Kahaa and the Kumbiehi-Kahaa roads linking to the community are in bad shape.

Speaking in an interview with Info Radio at the community, Mr. Yendaw Cletus, a resident, said during the rainy season, it is always difficult for them to access market centres at Wa and other places.

"In the rainy season, any time it rains, we are isolated...we cannot go anywhere," he lamented.

Madam Kosuma Abu, also a resident of the community, further lamented the road is the greatest part of the challenges they are facing in the community.

She said they are unable to send their farm produce and other goods to the market centres for sale, and also to purchase cooking ingredients.

Naa Jebuni Simon, a representative of the chief of the community, added that it is always difficult for their children to attend school during the wet season.

He said it is also challenging for residents to access healthcare services from nearby communities due to the terrible road network situation.

He appealed to the government and the Nadowli-Kaleo District Assembly to come to their aid.
